Digger

A story of love and loss as seen though the eyes of a child.

In the spirit of “Stand by Me” and “Dead Poet’s Society”, Digger is a bittersweet, heartwarming story of a troubled boy sent to spend the summer with his aunt and uncle on a remote island in the Pacific Northwest. There he meets Billy, a physically frail but spiritually strong boy who introduces Digger to a world of hope and imagination.

Digger is the kind of movie that reveals a small collection of important secrets as if it were discovering a series of brightly coloured stones on the beach.

Digger soars into the realm of the spiritual and sincere when it settles down and tells us Digger’s story. And besides, it’s nice to see Canada be Canada instead of a too-pretty imitation of the land next door.”
